Dave's brother Chad, his wife Angie, and their 3 kids, Kaitlyn(almost 3), Jackson(almost 3),
and Spencer(1)! We flew in late Wednesday night and Chad picked us up from the airport.
It was fun to see the kids reaction to the city when they first saw it. Jonas was particularly
excited about the sky scrapers.
Thanksgiving morning the dads took the 4 oldest kids to go see the Macy's Day Parade.

The kid's first subway ride, trying to get through the crowd to see the parade better,
and Dave and Chad holding the kids so they can see the parade!
They all seemed to have had a lot of fun. Angie and I stayed home to get Thanksgiving
dinner going. So this was our first year of cooking our own dinner. What an experience!
It all started with the turkey, which we had all prepped and ready to put in the oven when we
realized we had done it upside down. So we lost that time and had to redo it right side up.
Well, it turns out turkeys take longer than you think to cook. After 5 hours it still wasn't done.
And this is only a 10lb turkey. By 3pm everybody was getting hungry and the turkey wasn't close.
We also needed the oven to cook the rolls and sweet potatoes. So we served a butternut
squash bisque at about 4pm. Finally at 5pm we took the turkey out even though the little thing
still hadn't popped up. We used the turkey drippings for the gravy and the stuffing. Well
turns out the drippings were WAY TOO salty. Needless to say the gravy and stuffing was
thrown away. The rest was delicious though! Next time we decided we'll feed the kids just
whatever long before we need to eat! Everybody was so hungry, tired, and frustrated
about how long it took to finally eat. Then we had to clean up very quickly for a pie party that
was to start by 6:30pm. We made it and was able to relax for that part!
It was such a beautiful day that day. Almost 60degrees. At least while the women were
cooking the guys got to go to the park with the kids!

Jonas listened to a movie the entire pie party, our family picture, and Chad, Angie and kids!
Thanks again Chad and Angie for a great trip. We all really enjoyed spending so much time with you guys.
Thanks to Jack, Kate, and Spencer for sharing your bedroom, bed, and toys! We love you guys!

What a fun trip! Thanks for sharing all the picturs. That's one place I've never been. It probably is more fun to go with someone who is familiar with the city.
It's been a while since I have been up to date on the blogs. Looks like you guys had a great time in New York. Someday I hope to get there myself. Have a Merry Christmas!!!!
