Our first big trip was to Green River, Utah. We usually head down there in June and do
a rafting trip with Dave's extended family and friends. It's been a great family tradition
and one we all look forward to. We had our biggest group yet this year. Including babies
as young as 4 months - and yes, they rafted too! We headed down a day early to enjoy the
time together and relax. The water was the highest I had ever seen it. So we didn't have a
lot of beach to play on, but we didn't have to walk as far to play either!
We had some friends (Matt and Nicole) bring their kayaks. Many people tried them
out and practiced just by the beach. Even Hannah tried one all by herself!

The beach kind of goes up and down like a rolling hill. Well, with the water so high you
couldn't see most of the beach. But parts weren't that far under the water. At one point,
Matt took his camping chair out to the middle of the river and sat down while the
kayaks went around him! Later, people went out there and played keep away with a frisbee.
Highly entertaining! You'd see people running and then sometimes disappear under the
water because they hit the drop off!

We were able to do quite a few runs over the 2 days we were there. One of the best
things was that our friend Nicole brought her nice camera that has a great lens on it.
We were able to get so many amazing pictures close up during the rapids.
At night we hung out, ate, and roasted marshmallows. A new invention was created that
trip. Some crazy people decided to try roasting a strawberry and adding it to a smore.
Definitely not my idea. But it was a hit! We had such a great time and look forward to
next years trip! Thanks everybody who came for making it a great trip, even with the little
rain and freak windstorm!
